14 FORGIVING THE SELF

Sometimes the biggest struggle we have in life is not just getting through, getting up or getting over, it is in forgiving ourselves our humanness. So often we hold on tight to our mistakes, poor decisions, and inappropriate behaviour unable to forgive ourselves. Our failure, unwillingness or inability to forgive ourselves our transgressions keeps us rooted in the past making our feet laden simultaneously disabling our ability to move up, move on, move forward and rise into excellence through forgiveness and grace.

We must be mindful that learning to forgive ourselves our humanness does that make us less accountable, it makes us responsible for what comes out of our mouth, our actions, our lives, our happiness, our growth and grace. Nirvana cannot be attained without the acceptance of self.

Accept yourself for who you are in each moment and allow yourself the space to learn, rise and grow from the journey of living.

  1. Forgiving ourselves is very important... so odd that we seem to be able to forgive others more easy... I think unless we learn to forgive ourselves as you state, we can not move forward but only because of ourselves.. no one else holds us back... you have a very thoughtful post here xox

    1. hmmmmm, very insightful, yes it seems easier to forgive others than it is to forgive ourselves. It is something we must all learn and nurture as its beneficial to us moving forward

  4. Wise words Rhapsody . It does us no good at all to not forgive ourselves and others. We all make bad mistakes and choices, but we learn or should by them.
    Have a lovely week.x

    1. Yes, learning from our mistakes poor decision making is the key to shifting and transforming one's self & life. If not we are like hamsters on the wheel endeavor to keep making the same mistakes and bad decisions creating hell on earth for ourselves.

  5. I find myself forgiving myself for wrongs I committed when I was younger, from five or more years ago. I want to take responsibility and learn from my actions.

  6. Unforgiveness really scares me cause I think forgiveness is such a sign of strength. I pray I will always be strong enough to choose forgiveness.
