- Understanding is not agreeing
- Acceptance does not mean consent
- Knowing is not doing
- Hearing is not the same as listening
- Reading does not mean comprehension
- Tolerance is not acceptance
- Existing is not living
- Potential is not reality, it is a hypostasis, a possibility of what may be “if” the stars were aligned perfectly.

- Being right is not always a good thing
- Everything is not always about right or wrong…sometimes it just IS
Sipping on my daiquiri – Cheers, have a blessed week!
I agree with each and every one, good things you and I have learnt.
ReplyDeleteHave a fab week my friend, and hugs from Alaska

DeleteThose are excellent! I completely agree with each one of them. I agree with your comment on my best friend’s grand baby. Isn’t she beautiful? She is tottering around walking some now.
ReplyDeletehmmmmm, children are a delight and they grow fast, capture every moment.
DeleteGood Monday….
ReplyDeleteWe should always remain teachable.
Thanks for sharing and being a bright spot in my day.
Cheers!
Greg
Ain't that the truth, life is a constant lesson, at times I am an great student at other times i am deliquent in my attentiveness and am forced to repeat the experience until I sit up take note and pay attention.
DeleteWhat a civilised way to look at life, hmmmmmmmm…………………………………………………………………..
ReplyDeleteIs it civilised? I don't know, I just think its must easier to move through life if you pay attention to the lessons in the journey along the way.
DeleteFABZ,
ReplyDeleteLOVE your philosophical aphorisms woven poetically into verse. i think it’s more subtle and profound on the surface than much other poetry you’ve shared on your blog—kudoes!
may i add "writing is not communicating and "lust is not love" ? (not that they belong with your listed proverbs–your items possess a feeling of completeness all their own)

I agree with your additions thanks for the shared wisdom
DeleteHmmmmm
ReplyDeleteQuite a handy piece, trite, yet so full of many things.
Subjecting onself to corrections is indeed good especially as it pertains to being teachable.

Great post here something to think about.
ReplyDeleteSheila.
Hope you have a great day
enjoyed reading it, happy new month to you
ReplyDeleteThank you, i hope you have a splendid and progressive month.
DeleteI liked the one that says "Acceptance does not mean consent". Hope the week is going well for you.
ReplyDeleteits the truth, often when one is asked to accept someone or a situation they automatically assume it means to consent to or to agree to when i fact all it means is to accept a person or situation for what it is no more no less.
DeleteIn life, once we stop learning, we become stagnated in one spot and stop growing. I am a student of life as well, and don't think I will ever graduate, lol. Interesting lessons.
