6 POMMERAC

I have been craving pommerac for the longest while and cannot seem to find anywhere here in Toronto that carries the fruit, making me nostalgic for home. The taste of the pommerac fruit known also as pommecythere, Jamoon, Pomme Malaka, Otaheite Apple, Malacca Apple brings back sweet memories of childhood limes with friends, laughter and dance. The outside is fire engine red, the inside the whitest white with a seed that is beige/taupe in color. It's taste is light and juicy very satisfying like drinking a cup of cold water on a hot swelting day. It is great as a jam, chow or on its own, mmm..... sweet heavens i could eat a pommerac. Somebody!!!!!, point me to a pommerac!

  1. Thank you so much for your visit to my blog, Rhapsody. The pommerac flavor sounds like it might be like pommegranate which is what I grew up with here in Hawaii. It sounds wonderful and the color is gorgeous.

I'm glad you were OK after those pigeons gave you that scare. Wow! The mynahs can be a real nuisance here in Hawaii.

The pommerac sounds delicious! I've never eaten one but I'm sure that it is sold somewhere in New York and if I ever see one I'll try it.

    Where is it grown?

  3. That sure sounds delicious. I'm with Kay, it does sound like what we call the "pommegranate". I don't know where it is grown here, but they are yummmy.

    1. No pommegranate is completely different, pommerac is only red on the outside and its very white on the inside with a biege/brown color seed.

      It is yummy
