68 Listen More, Talk Less

Listen more.

Talk less.

It is not everything you need to express.

Silent observation brings revelation,

A guide to astute communication,

Smooth articulation,

Probably solutions,

To...

Stop the endless regurgitation

Of the...

He said,

She said,

It said,

That said,

They said,

Who said,

What said,

When said,

Where said,

Why said,

Unproductive tittle-tattle insanity.

It is useless sheep mentality

Obscured in false unity,

Rooted in insecurity.

Words are not always necessary.

You lose the lesson when prattling insistently,

Missing the message in the journey

You ought to...

Listen more.

Talk less.

You may learn something,

And gain everything

I love those first two lines… Listen more and talk less.
Some of the wisest people I have ever met have had very little to say.
But when they do speak it is profound and to the point.
    Have a splendid day, Greg

We all have our way and adjustments take time for you cannot force it, your friend need to be patient and take the time to understand you as you are and not as he wishes you to be.

Have a great week as well. smooches

  15. Absolutely Beautiful "D" I always respond inside with a very good feeling when I read your words! Haven’t been to your site for awhile due to this leg business. I am happy to report that I am up and ‘running’.

Have a ‘new scare" possible Breast Cancer. I am very’upbeat’ and not at all worried. It may be nothing at all, just waiting for the call from my Dr., as I had a repeat Mammogram and Ultrasound of my right breast yesterday. (Just had my regular 2 yr.). Never been called back before.

Whatever God chooses to throw my way, I will just keep a positive attitude, do whatever needs to be done medically and leave the rest up to prayer and my deep Faith in God. It’s helping me, (to stay so positive), having worked with Cancer patients for those 8 yrs.!

I’ve changed my site but there’s nothing on it and also my email addy. Hope all is well with you and yours.

  32. Interesting post, sista. Some people spend all their lives spreading poisonous gossip. Can't stand em! there's a couple of women that tick me off where I work. Any spare moment they have is spent in hushed tones. When they catch my eye...(they sit across from me in an open plan office) They mouth "not you." Like I should be glad it's not me they're gossiping about! What a waste of energy and brain cells!

    1. The one thing I have learnt about people who engage in malicious gossip is that its about character and it is only a matter of time before your name comes up and is maligned in the same way. This is a lesson i learnt the hard way - not always the best way to learn.

I do not engage in idle gossip, If i have something to say to someone i say it directly to them, if i am not able to say it, then i keep it to myself until i can or i simply let it go and take note to myself about being more mindful around that person.

  33. This is something very important to remember. Often times people are thinking of how they're going to reply with their own observations instead of listening carefully to what the other person is saying. Thank you for the reminder.

    1. Oh Kay you are so right, i am so guilty of doing that times, now i remind myself to "listen" then once the person is finished i ask, "are you sharing or would you like my input on the matter?" I found this to be a good strategy especially against foot in mouth incidences.
