I love the way you speak without shouting
Explain without condescending
Correct without reprimanding
Ask without demanding
Call without commanding
Reiterate without insulting
Teach without demeaning
Lead without showboating
Inquire without assuming
Listen without interrupting
Your power is quite exhilarating
It's easy for me to hear everything you’re saying
Because your way is so inviting
Enticing
Enlightening
Influencing
Your quiet authority is engaging
You have my attention
As usual, a very nice peace. Your words are always music to my ears. Peace.
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly.
DeleteThese are all very beautiful words, but for me the most powerful are the last few - "you have my attention, I am here and I am listening."
ReplyDeletePeace Fabulous One
That is very important. Everyone wants to know that they are heard and what they have to say has value and taken seriously and with consideration
Deleteamazing poem!!
ReplyDeletethank you linda
Deletewoot!this guru…is he even human? lessons— i desperately need to learn, for many times my emotions get the better of me *sighs!*RE; your comment on my space: "I’ll come on this, just let me say…….there is a place for you here…" did you mean just in spaces, a tiny corner of your heart or when i get to LA for my masters, i might come down for a visit?
ReplyDeletehaha a guru you say? Oh yea of little faith.
DeleteRE: Your latest comment on my blog Fabulicious, "Character cannot be appropriated." left me a tad confused. i’ll be much grateful if you could elaborate on what you are trying to say
DeleteCharacter cannot be appropriated means it cannot be bought, It cannot be stolen from someone and adhered to yourself in hopes that your characteristics may match the persons you admire. One can appropriate clothes, property, etc, character however is not something anyone can appropriate, you feel me?
DeleteA very profound and powerful piece… You are very talented and your words speak volumes to the heart and mind…
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining my friends list and for coming to visit.
I will be leaving for the river on Thursday and will not be back until next month, but I will be back to visit when I return home.
Merry Christms and Happy New Year my friend. May God bless you with the richness of His blessings.~HUGS~Marilyn~
Thank you. I am glad you were able to get something from reading the piece.
DeleteIs this a REAL person you speak of? I have never met ANYONE like that. You are lucky if it’s really a REAL person you speak of here. I so badly wish I knew someone even remotely like that. You write beautiful stuff.
ReplyDeletehaha, i know it seem in this day and age such a person does not exist right. They do though and we should all be blessed to have someone like this....

It can, if we don't conquer ourselves before its had the opportunity to work its magic.

Most of these qualities we do follow and also observe in others though not all of them together. To reflect all such traits always under any circumstance is divine in nature.Blessde you are if you get one like that

I am smiling because this seems to be what people focus on....there is a lot to be said for someone allowing you to speak your mind without interruptions.
Deletei'm loving this, the words are just so powerful...thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThank you sisi, its a something I think we can benefit from practicing, don't you?
DeleteAt the risk of sounding old, when I was a child manners and politeness were much more common than they seem to be these days. I have lost count of the times when I have purchased something from a shop and been grunted at by a sales assistant, or been shoved out of the way by a fellow customer in a supermarket with no apology. Common courtesy is no less important now than it was in the past. It’s not so difficult to remember common courtesy. Don’t let it die out due to weak excuses like lack of time. Treating others as you would like to be treated is a good rule to live by, and it begins with good manners and respect.
ReplyDeleteWonderful entry!!
hmmmmm....its all good, old is not a swear word, each day is a blessing. The difference is I think people today feel a combination of things, entitled, stressed, isolated, angry at the world all of that make for a some of what we see and experience, its not an excuse just a statement of the state of things. Some of us are able to rise above the crap like cream and still greet the world with a smile. Some not so much.
DeleteWow! I simply love this piece!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I am glad that you love it.
DeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteExquisitely written. I do admire those who walk in authority without the need to ensure others know they are the one in authority.
ReplyDeleteI know, magnetic isn't it. That kind of quiet power is truly amazing.
