30 LET IT GO

Bringing it forward – everyone once in a while I like to bring a post forward. The purpose? A reminder to myself, to keep the lessons fresh in me, to keep me moving forward. It is in the spirit of this remembering that I bring this post forward. Originally posted April 23, 2011hands & flowerI received this email and thought I would share it with you because I found it inspiring.

There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you: let them walk. I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left. The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us, for had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]

People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay. Let them go. It doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. You’ve got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead. You've got to know when it's dead. You've got to know when it's over.

Let me tell you something.. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it... Stop begging people to stay.

LET THEM GO!!
If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to......

LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to past hurts and pains.......

LET IT GO!!!
If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth........

LET IT GO!!!
If someone has angered you……..

LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge…

LET IT GO!!!
If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction…

LET IT GO!!!
If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents…

LET IT GO!!!
If you have a bad attitude.... ....

LET IT GO!!!
If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better.......

LET IT GO!!!
If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him.........

LET IT GO!!!
If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship....

LET IT GO!!!
If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help themselves.. ....

LET IT GO!!!
If you're feeling depressed and stressed..............

LET IT GO!!!
If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying 'take your hands off of it,' then you need to........

LET IT GO!!!

  4. Something is lingering in my mind and heart, it’s disturbing. However I need to managing and behaving what I did wrong? Is this my problem? I felt shame and stupid about myself after I listened my friend’s analysis about this problem and it makes me think that I’m so stupid. She’s a good friend but sometimes her sharp words do hurt my pride.Have a nice week Rhap. Hugz Shasha

  5. Letting go to welcome new things into our lives is a continuous exercise. We just need to remember that while someone let’s go of us, we need not forget them and stop caring for them. Have a great day.

  6. hello preciosa, this is one of my favourite blogs you have posted in this year. Why, because I loved this experience 2 years ago when an ex broke up with me,, one day he woke up, told me it was over, and he prefered we be friends,, after all things he had said, he had done, he had promised, well at first i thought i was in a movie, it wasnt my life, it couldnt be real,, but then i realised i had to face my life, it was too painful,, i loved this person, and then in the following 2 years I have been learning how to Let it, Him GO. I also picked out the positive things I learnt,to be honest and sincere with oneself is important, the greatest love you ever receive is from you and God, others will love you in accordance to how you love yourself, each relationship is a reflection of our selves, if there are issues we dont like, we need to work on them within ourself at first. So i am not acting like a victim here, this opportunity opened my eyes to work on things I didnt even know i had to work on and each day I am feeling better and better, without needing to be in a relationship. We shouldnt utter people to us an escape to avoid working on our fears such as loneliness. No matter how much we love, care for people or things, if they decide to go, we need to open the biggest door and let them go. Stay blessed preciosa. When someone tells you I am done, tell him,ok and let him go.

  10. WOW! I needed that word today sis. This has been on my spirit this season in my life because I am going through a transition. The tough part is letting go when things are ok, but you know you no longer doing your best. Or better what GOD wants from you. Thank again:)

  11. There comes a point in your life when you realize who really matters, who never did, and who always will. I totally believe that we shouldn't waste our time on someone who doesn't appreciate us the way we should be appreciated. But I also think that one of the hardest things we can do is to stop running back to the one that we should be walking away from. Perhaps that's just me. Uuugh!
But, how are we to truly know that they are walking away from us for good? Sometimes people will walk away from another just to see if that person cares enough to go after them? How do we know... do we let them walk or do we try one more time to keep a relationship in tact? Life, Uuugh!

  14. Hello,

This is an amazing post and the quote is truly inspiring.

Many time we hold on to something for fear of letting it go and we suffer in the process. The longer we hold on to things with which we are not comfortable, we are not happy, we don't feel at ease, the more and more we suffer and sometimes we are mentally destroyed.

Even if we love something we should give it all the freedom to go. If it really belongs to us it will come back to us and if it doesn't belong to us it makes no sense to hold to it.

All of us face such situations in our life. The fast we let go the better for us.

    Wish you all the best,
    Joseph

  19. Saying it and doing it are two different things. I think we all naturally tend towards the path of least resistance and less pain. You are indeed right, there is a time to let it go. The trick is to get to the point when you finally realize you have to let it go. That’s the learning point. If you don’t learn you’ll never let it go.

  21. WHOA!!! I'm about in tears....I realize this post is a year old, but I can only imagine there is a reason I'm reading it today!! I have truly been dealing with the loss of a twenty year friendship and my heart has been heavy and I've tried to reach out thinking that maybe it was simply miscommunication but to no avail. I've been thinking recently maybe I should try calling since all the conversations have been via chat or emails but then I stumble upon this.....It's long overdue for me to let it go! I wish her and her family nothing but happiness but being apart of my life is no longer apart of the plan! Thanks so much for such a powerful post! Blessings

    1. there is a saying that nothing happens by accident. You are here now because now is when you are open to hearing, learning and moving on. You have mourn the lost, be thankful for the lessons and laughter and keep on keeping on. Simplistic yet very complex.

  23. Letting go is among the toughest decisions. Specially your children - you have to let them go at various stages of their lives. Only then they develop and learn to become independent.
