18 Beauty in truth

“There is beauty in truth, even if it's painful. Those who lie, twist life so that it looks tasty to the lazy, brilliant to the ignorant, and powerful to the weak. But lies only strengthen our defects. They don't teach anything, help anything, fix anything or cure anything. Nor do they develop one's character, one's mind, one's heart or one's soul.”

    1. It is really because it changes our perception of ourselves even if we get away with creative untruths.

    1. Ah perspective, at times it’s all about perspective, the gaze, who’s truth, his truth, her truth, their truth, or the truth as it stands unchanging. Speaking truth doesn't always equal being victorious. Witnessing truth does not equal speaking the truth of what you saw. Witnessing truth does not always inspire others to do the right thing, to go forth and speak to the truth for truths sake, to save a life, to clear an injustice when self-preservation and fear is leading the path dominantly. The truth just is and the outcome isn't always pretty as you pointed out. The truth stands in the face of all life complexities woven into our vulnerabilities as human beings. It sits in the center and surrounds every essence and the consequence isn't always beautiful, triumphant, contentment or victorious, at times it lies in the midst and wake of horror, devastation, heartbreak and agony. That is the truth and the unvarnished facets of its realities

  6. The truth can hurt sometimes, but that's usually due to ignorance or laziness. I just looked at your pictures of Toronto. Very nice. I've been there once back in 1965.

  7. I hate it when people lie just for the sake of saving face. I like finding out who lies and why. It lets me know I have to distance myself from habitual liars. This is powerful, thanks for sharing it.

    1. hmmmmmm....interesting approach i see the merit and i must admit to at times adhering to this way as well. I believe though that we must pay attention to those in our lives and those that cross our paths and they will show you who they are by what they do, don't do, say and don't say.

  8. Hi Rhapsody hope you are well and enjoying life.
Truth is good to lie you also have to have a good memory.
Good to get back on here at last.

    1. Yes my friend, yes, that memory thing you have to had down pat or you will be exposed. That is the number one reason I steer clear of lying. My grandmother once told me as a child, "when you speak to someone, remember what you say, when you say it, why you say it, how you say it and for what reason you say it, so that when the story returns and is distorted and it is likely to be, you can set the record straight.

  9. The truth shall set you free. That's a fact. A lie will need another lie to cover it up, which will lead to another lie, and another till it becomes a huge entangling web. No wise person wants that. Always tell the truth and keep a clean memory. False accusations can ruin a man. Trust me, I know.
