24 SILENCE–BE STILL

hands & flower
I am here, in a reflective place, a self-imposed valley chosen specifically for thinking and being.

I am in silent, observing silence, it’s tenets, seeking truth in the echoes of what was, what is and the foreshadowing of what is to come.

I am poised with an open starved parched mind ready to capture, nourish and quench my being and in so do I share again the poem Silence.

Silence

Silence, it is required when one stops learning.
When growth is stunted,
Muted into stagnancy,
Clogging the ears,
The eyes,
The heart.
The stench of incessant noise decays,
Contaminates the mind
Suffocating oxygen,
Rutting comprehension,
Disconnecting and misdirecting,
Bleeding the psyche
Impregnating insidious callousness
An internal, external death
Shhh……
Be silent
Be still
Listen
Do some introspection
Heal the disconnection.
Get some direction
shhh...
Be still
Be silent
Get the lesson
Grow
Transform
Be

  1. love your words "stench of incessant noise" =powerfully poetic and original and stylish

i used to use lots of words with "ing" suffixes in my poetry but don’t any more

the 2nd 1/2 of this nice poem sure has the style of a rap song–it does in my mind, anyway

if you’d ever like to swap e-mailed copies of our original poetry for the other to really get into, i’d enjoy that

after all, you’re the most poetic of my blog friends , i think

  2. Hi my friend,Greg had quoted a Bible passage that said that the heart is the wellspring of the soul and that one should guard your heart. I asked how to accomplish that.

By the way, thanks for your kind advice.
