DAILY GRATITUDE JOURNAL

Daily gratitude journal
Often when we are caught up in life's challenges we are so enraptured in the journey that we forget to pause and say thank you. We begin to take the things and people in our lives for granted and we fail to introduce grace into our lives.

It is the spirit of creating a space for "Grace" in my life that I open  this his Gratitude Journal, to remind myself to always be grateful to remain humble and say THANK YOU. I invite you to journey along with me daily in thankfulness.

THE QUESTION TO ASK YOURSELF EACH DAY
  • What am I most thankful for today, in this moment, right here, right now, what am I most thankful for?

THE RULE

  • Find at least ONE thing, just one thing, no matter how small in which you are thankful for and acknowledge the reason for that thankfulness.
THE CHALLENGE
To…
Think It
Feel It
Believe It
Say It
Say It Out Loud
Speak It Softly
Sing It
Sign It
Pray It
Praise It
Write It
Rap It
Share It
Acknowledge It
and most of all,
Pass it on
And…
Inspire someone

My Grandmother "bless her soul" seemed always thankful no matter how disappointing, challenging, murky, or depressing her day. It was one of her more admirable qualities even in her imperfectness. In my humble way I to am trying to implement daily that same philosophy , my everyday living, thinking and being so that I am never discouraged.

§
I have found that even in my resistance that there is always something to be grateful for everyday; even in the worst day there is a blessing, though at times we are hard pressed to see it.

I find it a nourishing exercise to proactively cultivate the art of teaching myself to see beyond the despair of any given situation no matter how challenging to me in order to realize grace and the infinite possibilities of where the lesson(s) will take me, if I allow it.

To be triumphant is to understand that  the Divine is very thorough and does not miss a beat. So be open to the blessing and you will receive it. Teach yourself to see the gift in every moment; it will be the fuel that keeps your heart light, you soul buoyant and your spirit going.

Mindfulness Thought...
Know that you are not your story and that your story is simply part of the landscape of your experiences.

I am grateful that I have food to feed my children and a roof to put over their heads, and even if we take those simple things for granted, it is a blessing and I thank God everyday for that and I am happy even if the weather is yakky because other people right now in Haiti and Chile and Nigeria and Somalia and countless other places in this world are suffering because they don’t even have clean water for their kids and they always smile and keep going, cause they are not spoiled like us. They should be an example to all of us so we can finally start to appreciate what we have in life.Marina

Good evening Rhap…I really appreciate you professing a pain free day over me.Your heart senses well…Everyday since my spinal cord injury have been days filled with pain. But I don’t complain because God put me back on my feet. The doctors and my nurses called me the miracle man.I feel better in the summer, but my legs always feel hot/cold with trillion of prickly needles. Yet I am thankful…Because at the age of 40 there was a point where consideration was to put me in a retirement home. Yikes! I think if that would have happened I would have never come out.Sometimes I wish people could see from where I have come.Anyhow…I’ve rambled and wanted to say I am blessed with your thoughts for me. My thank you is gratitude from my heart.I look forward to you introducing me to your grandmother in heaven.Greghttp://blogquest.spaces.live.com

I am so thankful that, almost 1 yr. ago, I was led to this awesome woman, Rhapsody, & her ‘Space’. She was actually attacked on another site when she left some very true "words of wisdom" and support, to a troubled young woman who had actually ‘screamed silently’ for help. Enough said about that….lots of water under that bridge. Despite the very busy life she leads with work, family, this space, etc., etc., she finds the time to send either a few words, sentences or more, that LIFT ME UP EVERYTIME! She inspires me to continue to ‘get up’ whenever I want to stay down and have myself another big ‘Pity Party’ just because I am disabled and have not been able to do what I know God put me on this Earth to do>>>Nursing!! However, anytime I can get out and volunteer, I know I am making a difference, no matter how small, in another’s life. It’s amazing how much better I feel! I have an amazing husband & 3 grown boys, (as well as an extended family of over 50); yet the Powers of Darkness continually try to take control over me. With love, guidance & prayers, I am still here. My main comment here is: RHAPSODY, YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME TO CONTINUE TO LIVE, & BE GRATEFUL FOR ALL THAT I HAVE, & ALL THAT I CAN ACCOMPLISH BY GIVING TO OTHERS & MOST IMPORTANTLY…FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES AS WE FORGIVE OTHERS!!!!! ……………Jen

Today in this moment, in this milisecond of the hour I am present in my gratefulness for every breath I take, for my mobility, for my ability to speak, taste, see, hear, communicate, for the blessings of a roof over my head and the warmth that surrounds it, runs through it and that dwells in it. I am cherished and delighted with the Divine that has and continue to bless me with the will to rise when i falter, with the grace of spirit to extend beyond myself to another, That reminds me all through life even in spaces with the gems of geniune community much like little touch stones that I am blessed.

To all my SPACES FRIENDS i am blessed to know you and all your wisdoms, foresights, insights are valued and welcomed. Peace….

    Hi!
I learned long ago, how to be grateful for the little things we often take for granted. The little things that appear in front of us every moment, evey where, every how, and we simply fail to notice them. One of the great teachers of grattitude taught me this little lesson…

“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child – our own two eyes. All is a miracle.” (Thich Nhat Hanh)

From the same teacher, here is a true gem of learning about living in joy…

“ Sometimes your joyis the source of your smile, but sometimes your smilecan be the source of your joy.”(Thich Nhat Hanh)
For me, this item has been a priceless lesson about joyful living…

“ Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today,at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little,at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick,at least we didn’t die;so, let us all be thankful.”(Buddha)
And finally, here is my contribution to living in the moment, living in abundance, and living the attitude of gratitude…

“ Breathing in, I am awaken; Breathing out, I Smile. Breathing in, I am enthused; Breathing out, I am thankful.
Breathing in, I feel energized; Breathing out, I am calm. Breathing in, I am mindful; Breathing out, I am at ease.
Breathing in, there is a knowing; Breathing out, I am one with the universe. Breathing in, I live in joy; Breathing out, I am at peace.
Breathing in, I am ready; Breathing out, the universe awaits.”
Be well, be safe, be blessed, be happy.

Replaced the theme with a seasonally-appropiate one;2. Long posts now have scrollbars, to make them easier to read;3. I ended the "left/right scrollbars", so you only need scroll up and down, not left and right as well;4. I added a "My Favorite Spaces" list (PS, are you on it? Do you want to be?")5. Re-orderd some of the columns to make it easier to navigate;6. Started to include some (appropriate) in-line graphicsIf you’d like to swing by and check it out, come on by!!!-David / BootJockey

  84. This is my first time on this blog and i love it already.
I am grateful for the breath of life and the refreshing feeling of expectation i feel at the moment. I have been feeling restless a lot lately but i had a talk with HIM and i feel so much better. I even slept better last night despite the fact that i got just about 4 hours of sleep but i feel refreshed.
I thank God for the seemingly simple things...the ability to use my 5 senses...many cannot, i thank Him for my smile which brightens a lot of people's days (or so i'm told). I thank Him for being able to thank Him with a sincere and grateful heart.
I thank God for His endless favour, mercy and love. I thank Him for my family and the love we have...I feel so blessed and lucky to have them. I thank God for everything i am today and everything i have which i know is by His grace and mercy. I could go on and on
    Thank You God

  170. Entry 346: Laughter
I am thankful for the belly fill of laughter today courtesy of my eldest daughter and 2yr old God son. My daughter through silly conversations around her hair and the "Instyler" she wants to purchase and my God son who decided he wanted to go to the grocery store with me and pull the wheel knapsack. I shortened it so he could pull it comfortably. When we arrived at the grocery store he insisted on pushing the cart, stretching his little hands to the handle. Once he spotted the icecream he promptly let it go and went up to the glass and said, "mommy icecream," I told him we will pick it up last before the cashier and we proceeded to shop, he chose yogurt, hotdogs and icecream. At the cashier he helped me unload all the items, told the cashier in his language to cash the items and he moved to the front where he helped me bag up everything. His mother met us there but he paid her no mind and told her no when she tried to talk to him as he was busy packing up the grocery. Then he took the knacksack pulling with all his might, stubbornly refusing to relinquish it to his mother or I. We just laught and walked slowly along each side to assist should he need it.
