BLESSED BY THE RAIN

Enjoying the rainToday my blessing came with the rain

As it kissed my face

Its sweet drops sliding smoothly like veins

As I laughed enjoying its touch

while everybody else complained…

“I hate the rain”

“I hate the rain”

I smiled knowing full well

I am blessed by the touch of the rain

And look forward for when it comes

again and again

I was blessed by the touch of the rain…

  1. Lovely words! I just wish I would be blessed with the touch of the rain when my tomatoes need it and not when I have just had my hair done. LOL I hope you have a wonderful weekend and even some rain if you need it where you live.

    1. I feel yah, i don't really care if it wets my hair. I guess my good feelings of the rain stems from good rainy times of childhood.

  2. Hello Ms Rhapsody,
I love your poem. It’s so easy to take the rain for granted. Indeed it is a blessing!

  3. I very much like what you have written here. I too have learned to take my blessings in whatever form He gives them. And to be grateful each morning and night before I get up and after I go to bed. Even during the day, gratitude spills forth from my very heart.

I loved the rain especially a hot day after over temperature 40c, it seems coming in this summer season.
In here Melbourne not enough rain for last ten years and last three years became very bad situation with waters.
I wish we have rain soon.
I hope you having a great week ahead,

LOVE your poem here so much, but I wonder what made you choose the simile you chose to convey your sense of smoothness.

Hope you had a great weekend. Ram

  20. Rain is always welcome particularly to those who suffer under sweltering heat. Most Indian cinemas accry a rain scene when the heroine and sometimes hero too get soaked in rain.I thought you had taken a still from one such
The poem is short and sweet

  21. This is such a beautiful piece. I can totally relate. I know some people don't like the rain, but I enjoy walking and being in the rain. It has a very 'freeing' and soothing effect. It's peaceful.

  22. I love the illusion of loving the rain and getting wet. In reality, I'd be freaking out because my hearing aid and cochlear implant are not waterproof.

That is 10K in equipment. I can't afford to replace.

    I love the photo!

    1. wow, this makes me know the joy of the rain and appreciate it even more. So much is taken for granted, even the rain fall that we never give thought to those who are unable to walk in the rain for reasons you just shared. Thank you for that, this is something I never even considered before today. Thanks for bring home the blessing.

    1. I know. I remember running around cleaning out barrels and spouts to put and catch the rain so it can fill up the barrels with water. Those blessings meant some reprieve from carrying water for a little bit. My joy was two fold.
